Train

There are trains to and from Nailsea & Backwell station approximately every half hour during the day. You will probably have to change at Bristol. You can look up train times on the National Rail Enquiry website.

If the weather is fine the walk from Nailsea & Backwell is quite pleasant, and about a mile in length. It takes approximately twenty minutes. Alternatively you could take a taxi (but should book in advance). The telephone numbers for the local taxi companies are:

  • Nailsea & Backwell Taxis: 01275 799999
  • Nailsea Cars: 01275 797779

Directions for walking from the station:

  • Exit the station. You will find yourself on a road that passes beneath the track.
  • Head towards Nailsea - if you have arrived from Bristol you will need to pass under the bridge and past the station car park. If you find yourself walking past the petrol station, you are going the wrong way!
  • Follow the road up a small hill (Bucklands Batch). From this point your route is marked with squares on the map. At the top of the hill, turn left through the bollards into a residential cul-de-sac (Cheddar Close).
  • Walk straight down Cheddar Close and turn left onto the Perrings.
  • After half a mile, turn left onto Whiteoak Way.
  • Walk down Whiteoak Way until you get to the Ring-O-Bells pub, turn right almost back on yourself and you will see Holy Trinity Church on your left.

Directions from the church to the reception (by car or walking)

  • Reverse the route for getting to the church by car as far as the roundabout near the police station. Go straight ahead at this roundabout. (The route is marked with diamonds.)
  • At the mini-roundabout immediately following, turn right and follow the road around.
  • Scotch Horn Leisure Centre is on the right. There is plenty of parking in the centre's car park.
